This Privacy Policy explains how FetchRU ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the FetchRU website, Chrome Extension, and Discord Bot.

By using any FetchRU service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

FetchRU is designed to collect as little information as possible. Depending on which services you use, we may collect:

  • Discord User IDs (Discord Bot only)
  • Course indices you choose to monitor
  • Application settings and preferences
  • Anonymous diagnostic information used to troubleshoot issues

FetchRU does not collect browsing history, passwords, payment information, or unrelated personal data.

2. Chrome Extension

The FetchRU Chrome Extension stores your watched course indices and extension settings locally using the Chrome Storage API. This information remains on your device unless you remove it or uninstall the extension.

The extension periodically retrieves publicly available Rutgers course availability information solely to determine whether watched course sections have become available.

The extension does not collect your browsing history or monitor activity outside of the Rutgers course availability pages required for its functionality.

3. Discord Bot

When using the FetchRU Discord Bot, we store only the information necessary to provide the requested functionality, including:

  • Discord User IDs
  • Watched course indices
  • Notification preferences

This information is used exclusively to process commands, monitor courses, and send course opening notifications.

4. Website

The FetchRU website does not require user accounts and does not intentionally collect personal information.

Standard server logs generated by the hosting provider may include information such as IP addresses, browser types, and requested pages for security, diagnostics, and website maintenance.

5. How We Use Information

Collected information is used only to:

  • Monitor selected Rutgers course sections
  • Send notifications when seats become available
  • Provide requested FetchRU functionality
  • Maintain and improve the platform
  • Diagnose technical issues

6. Data Sharing

FetchRU does not sell, rent, or trade your information.

Information is shared only when required by law or when necessary to operate services provided by trusted third-party platforms such as Discord, GitHub Pages, or the Chrome Web Store.

7. Data Retention

Information is retained only as long as necessary to provide the requested services.

You may remove watched courses at any time. Chrome Extension data may also be removed by clearing extension storage or uninstalling the extension.

8. Security

Reasonable efforts are made to protect stored information. However, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission can guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

FetchRU is not directed toward children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when revisions were made.

Continued use of FetchRU after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
