Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FetchRU website, Chrome Extension, and Discord Bot (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using any FetchRU service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services.

1. About FetchRU

FetchRU is an unofficial project designed to help Rutgers students monitor publicly available course availability and receive notifications when seats become available.

FetchRU is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Rutgers University.

2. Eligibility

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of FetchRU complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and the policies of any services you use alongside FetchRU, including Discord and Google Chrome.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use FetchRU only for lawful purposes.

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the operation of FetchRU.
  • Use the Services for unauthorized or unlawful activities.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or abuse the Services.
  • Use automated methods to overload Rutgers systems through FetchRU.

4. Chrome Extension

The Chrome Extension monitors publicly available Rutgers course availability information for the course indices that you choose to watch.

The extension stores watch lists and settings locally using Chrome Storage. You are responsible for maintaining your own browser configuration and extension settings.

5. Discord Bot

The Discord Bot allows users to manage watched course indices and receive notifications through Discord.

You are responsible for your Discord account and for complying with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

6. Availability

FetchRU is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, continuous monitoring, or that notifications will always be delivered successfully or without delay.

Rutgers course availability may change rapidly, and FetchRU cannot guarantee that a course will remain open after a notification is sent.

7. No Guarantee of Registration

FetchRU notifies users when publicly available course information indicates that a seat has become available.

FetchRU does not reserve seats, register users for courses, or guarantee successful enrollment.

8. Third-Party Services

FetchRU relies on third-party platforms and services, including Discord, Google Chrome, GitHub Pages, and Rutgers course availability systems.

We are not responsible for outages, policy changes, or service interruptions affecting these third-party services.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FetchRU and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of the Services.

This includes, but is not limited to, missed course registrations, notification failures, loss of data, or service interruptions.

10. Changes to the Services

FetchRU may be modified, updated, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically.

Continued use of FetchRU after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to FetchRU for users who violate these Terms or misuse the Services.

13. Contact

Questions regarding these Terms may be directed through the official FetchRU GitHub repository or the contact information provided on the FetchRU website.
